VehicleCurbWeight–istheweightofyournewvehiclewhenyou
pickeditupfromyourdealerplusanyaftermarketequipment.
Payload–isthecombinedweightofcargoandpassengersthatthe
vehicleiscarrying.Themaximumpayloadforyourvehiclecanbefound
ontheSafetyComplianceCertificationLabelontheB-Pillarortheedge
ofthedriver’sdoor.Lookfor“THECOMBINEDWEIGHTOF
OCCUPANTSANDCARGOSHOULDNEVEREXCEEDXXXkgOR
XXXlb.”formaximumpayload.ThepayloadlistedontheSafety
ComplianceCertificationLabelisthemaximumpayloadforthevehicle
asbuiltbytheassemblyplant.Ifanyaftermarketordealerinstalled
equipmenthasbeeninstalledonthevehicle,theweightofthe
equipmentmustbesubtractedfromthepayloadlistedontheSafety
ComplianceCertificationLabelinordertodeterminethenewpayload.
Theappropriateloadingcapacityofyourvehiclecanbelimited
eitherbyvolumecapacity(howmuchspaceisavailable)orby
payloadcapacity(howmuchweightthevehicleshouldcarry).Once
youhavereachedthemaximumpayloadofyourvehicle,donotadd
morecargo,evenifthereisspaceavailable.Overloadingorimproperly
loadingyourvehiclecancontributetolossofvehiclecontroland
vehiclerollover.
