Thecompassreadingmaybeaffectedwhenyoudrivenearlarge
buildings,bridges,powerlinesandpowerfulbroadcastantennas.
Magneticormetallicobjectsplacedin,onornearthevehiclemayalso
affectcompassaccuracy.
Usually,whensomethingaffectsthecompassreadings,thecompasswill
correctitselfafterafewdaysofoperatingyourvehicleinnormal
conditions.Ifthecompassstillappearstobeinaccurate,amanual
calibrationmaybenecessary.RefertoCompasscalibrationadjustment
inthissection.
Mostgeographicareas(zones)haveamagneticnorthcompasspointthat
variesslightlyfromthenortherlydirectiononmaps.Thisvariationisfour
degreesbetweenadjacentzonesandwillbecomenoticeableasthe
vehiclecrossesmultiplezones.Acorrectzonesettingwilleliminatethis
error.RefertoCompasszoneadjustmentinthissection.
