STARTING AND OPERATING
To  release  the  parking   brake,   pull  out   on  the  parking
brake  release  located   on  the  left side  of  the  instru ment
panel.
The  parking  brake   shou ld alw ays  be applied   when   the
driver  is not  in  the vehicle.
WARNING!
Leaving children in a vehicle unattended is dan-
gerousforanumberofreasons.Achildorothers
couldbeinjured.Childrenshouldbewarnednot
to touch the parking brake, brake pedal or the
gear selector lever. Dont leave the keys in the
ignition. A child could operate power windows,
othercontrols,ormovethevehicle.
Be sure the parking brake is fully disengaged
beforedriving:failuretodosocanleadtobrake
failure,andanaccident.

When  parking  on a  hill, it is important   to set  the parking
brake  before  placing  the gear  selector  in  Park, otherw  ise
the  load   on  the  transm ission   locking  mechanism    may
make  it difficult  to  move  the  selector  out of  park.  As an
added  precau tion,  turn  the  front wheels  tow ard  the curb
on a downhill   grad e and away  from the  curb on an  uphill
grad e.
