Whenhardbrakingisrequired,applycontinuousforceonthebrake
pedal;donotpumpthebrakepedalsincethiswillreducethe
effectivenessoftheABSandwillincreaseyourvehicle’sstopping
distance.TheABSwillbeactivatedimmediately,allowingyoutoretain
fullsteeringcontrolduringhardbrakingandonslipperysurfaces.
However,theABSdoesnotdecreasestoppingdistanceanddoesnot
decreasethetimenecessarytoapplythebrakes.

theparkingbrakehandleupasfar
aspossible.

Torelease,pressandholdthebutton(2),pullthehandleupslightly,
thenpushthehandledown.
Alwayssettheparkingbrakefullyandmakesurethatthe
gearshiftissecurelylatchedinP(Park)(automatic
transmission)orin1(First)(manualtransmission).
Iftheparkingbrakeisfullyreleased,butthebrakewarninglamp
remainsilluminated,thebrakesmaynotbeworkingproperly.
Seeyourauthorizeddealerassoonaspossible.
TRACTION CONTROLி (IF EQUIPPED)
TheTractionControl௢systemhelpsyoumaintainthestabilityand
steerabilityofyourvehicle,especiallyonslipperyroadsurfacessuchas
snow-orice-coveredroadsandgravelroads.Thesystemwillallowyour
vehicletomakebetteruseofavailabletractionintheseconditions.
