FordspecificationWSB-M8B16-A2.
Donotuseanyspecialwasherfluid
suchaswindshieldwaterrepellent
typefluidorbugwash.Theymay
causesqueaking,chatternoise,
streakingandsmearing.Refertothe
Lubricantspecificationssectionin
thischapter.
Stateorlocalregulationsonvolatileorganiccompoundsmayrestrictthe
useofmethanol,acommonwindshieldwasherantifreezeadditive.
Washerfluidscontainingnon-methanolantifreezeagentsshouldbeused
onlyiftheyprovidecoldweatherprotectionwithoutdamagingthe
vehicle’spaintfinish,wiperbladesorwashersystem.
Ifyouoperateyourvehicleintemperaturesbelow40°F(4.5°C),
usewasherfluidwithantifreezeprotection.Failuretouse
washerfluidwithantifreezeprotectionincoldweathercouldresultin
impairedwindshieldvisionandincreasetheriskofinjuryoraccident.
Note:Donotputwasherfluidintheenginecoolantreservoir.Washer
fluidplacedinthecoolingsystemmayharmengineandcoolingsystem
components.
CHANGING THE WIPER BLADES
1.
Pullthewiperarmawayfromthe
vehicle.Turnthebladeatanangle
fromthewiperarm.Pushthelock
pinmanuallytoreleasetheblade
andpullthewiperbladedown
towardthewindshieldtoremoveit
fromthearm.
2.
Attachthenewwipertothe
wiperarmandpressitintoplace
untilaclickisheard.
Replacewiperbladesatleastonceperyearforoptimumperformance.
