BeltAlert   Program ming
NOTE:    Watch for  the Seat  Belt Remind er  Light to  turn
on  while   unbu ckling  the   seat  belt  and   turn  off  while
re-bu ckling  the  seat  belt. It  may  be  necessary  to  retract
the  seat belt.
The  Enhanced   Warning   System   (BeltAlert)  can  be   en-
abled   or   disabled   by   you r  authorized    dealer    or  by
perform ing  the  follow ing step s:

NOTE:    Daim lerChrysler   does  not  recom mend   deacti-
vating  the  Enhanced  Warning   System  (BeltAlert).
4.  Turn  the   ignition   switch   to  the  LOCK   position.   A
single  chim e will sou nd to signify  that  you have  success-
fully  completed  the  program  ming.

With  all doors  closed , and  the  ignition   switch  in any
position   excep t ON  or  START, buckle   the  driver’s  seat
belt.
The Enhanced   Warning  System  (BeltAlert)  can  be reacti-
vated  by  rep eating this  proced ure.

do  not start  the  engine.  Wait  for the  Seat  Belt Remind er
Light  to turn  off and  then  proceed   to the  next  step .
Turn  the ignition  switch  to the ON/  RUN  position,  but
NOTE:   When  the Enhanced  Warning  System  (BeltAlert)
is deactivated  , the Seat Belt Remind er Light  will continu  e
to illuminate   as  long as  the  driver’s  seat  belt is  unbu ck-
led.
NOTE:   You  must perform   the follow ing step s within  60
second s of turning   the  ignition  switch  to  the ON/   RUN
position.
Automatic Locking Mode — If  Equipped
In  this   mode,  the   shou lder  belt   is  autom atically   pre-
locked . However,  the belt will  still retract  to rem ove slack
in the  shou lder  belt.  Use  The Autom atic  Locking  Mod e
any  time   a  child   safety  seat   is  installed   in  a  seating
position  that  has  a  seat  belt with  this  featu re. Seat  belts
that  have  the  Autom  atic Locking   Mod e featu re  have  a

Within  60 second s of turning  the ignition  switch  to the
ON/   RUN   position,   unbu ckle  and   then  re-bu ckle  the
driver’s  seat  belt  at least  three  times  within   10 second s,
end ing with  the  seat  belt buckled  .
