THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE STARTING YOUR VEHICLE
ILLUMINATED ENTRY SYSTEM
REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY
The courtesy lights will turn on when you use the keyless
entry transm itter or open the doors.
This system allow s you to lock or unlock the doors and
liftgate, and activate the panic alarm from distances up to
abou t 23 feet (7 meters) using a hand held rad io trans-
mitter. The transm itter need not be pointed at the vehicle
to activate the system .
The lights will fade to off after abou t 30 second s or they
will immediately fade to off once the ignition switch is
turned on.
NOTE: Inserting the key into the ignition switch dis-
ables all buttons on that transm itter; how ever, the but-
tons on the rem aining transm itters will continu e to work.
Shifting the vehicle out of PARK disables all transm itter
buttons for all keys.
NOTE:
•
The front courtesy overhead console, door courtesy
and liftgate lights do not turn on if the dimmer control
is in the interior lights ON position (extrem e top
position).
Two (2) transm itters may be supplied with the vehicle (as
seen below ). Vehicles built with additional powered
options will be equ ipped from the factory with corre-
spond ing buttons on the transm itters.

The illuminated entry system will not operate if the
dimmer control is in the “defeat” position (extrem e
downw ard position).
