CONVERTIBLE TOP OPERATION
To Lower The Top:
NOTE:    Thorou ghly   dry   the  convertible   top   and  top
storage   area,  prior   to  leaving   the  top   lowered   for  an
extend ed  period  of time.  This will  help  prevent  possible
mildew  build-up.
WARN ING!
The  convertib  le  top  does  not  provid  e the  stru ctural
protection   that  a rein forced   metal  roof  does,  and  the
fab ric top  cannot  be  expected  to  preven t the  ejection
of the  occupants   of a veh icle in  a collision . Therefore
it is importan  t  that all  occupants   wear their  seat  belts
at  all  tim es  when   rid ing  in   a  convertib le.  Stu dies
have  shown  that  it is gen erally  safer  to rem ain  insid e
a veh icle  durin g  a collision  , than  to  be  ejected  from
the  veh icle.

CAUTIO N!
To avoid  damage   to the  convertib  le top  or its compo-
nents,   you r veh icle  is equipped    with   a featu  re that
preven ts  convertib  le top  operation   at  speed s over  10
mph  (16 km/h).
