WINDSHIELD WASHER FLUID
Addfluidtofillthereservoirifthe
levelislow.Inverycoldweather,do
notfillthereservoircompletely.
OnlyuseawasherfluidthatmeetsFordspecificationWSB-M8B16–A2.
Donotuseanyspecialwasherfluidsuchaswindshieldwaterrepellent
typefluidorbugwash.Theymaycausesqueaking,chatternoise,
streakingandsmearing.RefertotheMaintenanceproduct
specificationsandcapacitiessectioninthischapter.
Stateorlocalregulationsonvolatileorganiccompoundsmayrestrictthe
useofmethanol,acommonwindshieldwasherantifreezeadditive.
Washerfluidscontainingnon-methanolantifreezeagentsshouldbeused
onlyiftheyprovidecoldweatherprotectionwithoutdamagingthe
vehicle’spaintfinish,wiperbladesorwashersystem.
Ifyouoperateyourvehicleintemperaturesbelow40°F(4.5°C),
usewasherfluidwithantifreezeprotection.Failuretouse
washerfluidwithantifreezeprotectionincoldweathercouldresultin
impairedwindshieldvisionandincreasetheriskofinjuryoraccident.
Donotputwasherfluidintheenginecoolantreservoir.Washer
fluidplacedinthecoolingsystemmayharmengineandcooling
systemcomponents.
