Dissimilar spare tire/wheel information
Failuretofollowtheseguidelinescouldresultinanincreased
riskoflossofvehiclecontrol,injuryordeath.
Yourvehiclemaybeequippedwithadissimilarsparetire/wheel.A
dissimilarsparetire/wheelisdefinedasasparetireand/orwheelthatis
differentinbrand,sizeorappearancefromtheroadtiresandwheels.If
youhaveadissimilarsparetire/wheel,thenitisintendedfortemporary
useonly.Thismeansthatifyouneedtouseit,youshouldreplaceitas
soonaspossiblewitharoadtire/wheelthatisthesamesizeandtypeas
theroadtiresandwheelsthatwereoriginallyprovidedbyFord.Ifthe
dissimilarsparetireorwheelisdamaged,itshouldbereplacedrather
thanrepaired.
Whendrivingwiththedissimilarsparetire/wheel,donot:
Exceed70mph(113km/h)
Usemorethanonedissimilarsparetire/wheelatatime
Usecommercialcarwashingequipment
Usesnowchainsontheendofthevehiclewiththedissimilarspare
tire/wheel
Theusageofadissimilarsparetire/wheelcanleadtoimpairmentofthe
following:
Handling,stabilityandbrakingperformance
Comfortandnoise
Groundclearanceandparkingatcurbs
Winterweatherdrivingcapability
