Northisthebasisfromwhichheadingand
bearingreadingsarecalculated.
DestinationArrow
Thedestinationarrowisthelargerofthetwo
arrowsinthecompasspartoftheguidance
displays.Thearrowindicatesthedirectionof
thedestinationornextwaypoint,relativeto
thecurrentvehicleheading.Whenthearrow
ispointingstraightup(0°)towardsthe
headingupicon,thevehicleisonaheading
within ±15° ofthedestinationornext
waypoint.
Heading
Theheadingisthedirectioninwhichthe
vehicleispointing.Thenavigationcomputer
andGPSsatellitereceiverworkin
conjunction,tocalculatethedifferencein
degrees(°)betweenthevehicle’ sdirection
andTrueNorth-thisisthereadingshown.
HeadingUpIcon
Thearrowalsoindicatesinwhichdirection
therouteisbeingfollowed:
Thisindicatesthedirectioninwhichthe
directionarrowshouldbepointingtofollow
theshortestroute(bydistance)tothe
destinationornextwaypoint.Theiconwill
remainatthetop(0°)ofthecompasspart
oftheguidancedisplays.

followedforwards(i.e.intheorderthat
theroutewasprogrammed).
