Downshifting increases power going uphill, or
provides engine braking downhill. For best fuel
economy during normal driving conditions, always
drive with the shift lever in the “D” position.
1
The key must be in the “ON” or “ACC” position,
and the brake pedal depressed.
2
Shift to “2” position, then push the “SHIFT L.”
Push again to upshift.
Overdrive switch
To turn “ON” or “OFF” Depress the overdrive
switch to choose either four-speed (“OFF”) or five-
speed (“ON”) operation. During normal driving
conditions, always drive with overdrive “ON,” this
allows the transmission to shift automatically into
five-speed operation at higher speeds, improving
fuel economy. If the indicator light on the
instrument cluster is illuminated, overdrive is “OFF.”

This manual is really an overview of how to operate the controls of the car. I wanted the headlight bulb reference number, but that was way too detailed for this simple manual.
