the new 2010 r ange r over sport supercharged offers even greater performance than
the highly successful previous Range Rover Sport models with an all-new, 510-horsepower,
supercharged LR-V8 engine. Offering purebred sports-car acceleration of 5.9 seconds
from 0 to 60 mph, all that power is mated to a sophisticated six-speed transmission with
heightened responsiveness, thanks to both
steering-wheel-mounted paddle shift levers
and an intelligent sport suspension mode
that adapts to any driving characteristic.
Because designing and engineering vehicles
is a holistic endeavor, the Supercharged
employs a new Adaptive Dynamics system,
which enhances control of the vehicle’s ride
and handling. Predictive technology continually
monitors damper (shock) settings at a rate
of 500 times per second for the widest
range of conditions. The result is seamless
preparedness for the prevailing driving style,
whether on- or off-road.
While 510 horsepower makes acceleration and passing a primary talent, the Supercharged
model’s high-performance braking system is equal to the task. Fifteen-inch ventilated discs
and unique aluminum, six-piston monoblock calipers do the work up front while 14.3-inch discs
and single-piston calipers perform in the rear.
