standard Trailer Stability Assist can sense
trailer sway and then strategically apply the
brakes to help bring it under control.
In addition to generously sized 4-wheel disc
brakes, the M-Class features Brake Assist,
a technology pioneered by Mercedes-Benz
that can potentially shorten stopping distances
when the driver does not brake hard enough,
soon enough, in an emergency.
When taking off on an uphill slope, the
standard Hill Start Assist feature automatically
holds the brakes for a moment after the driver
releases the brake pedal. This helps to keep
the vehicle from rolling backwards before you
start driving away.
