Of course, the laws of physics don’t allow anything to be bigger inside than outside—
but with over 100 cu ft of total interior volume, MAZDA2 really makes you wonder.
That’s more room than the Yaris 5-Door. And when it comes to oversized or awkward
cargo, MAZDA2 says bring it on and bring it along. Because even with the 60/40 split
fold-down rear seatback up, MAZDA2 offers 13 cu ft of cargo volume. Which is roughly
enough for a fully grown Akita. Or a massive subwoofer. Or a whatever. Fold it down
and voilà! You’ve more than doubled your carrying capacity. The filling of which is
made a lot easier thanks to a low cargo-area liftover height. So don’t let MAZDA2’s
smallish footprint fool you. When it comes to room, it’s a size 14. Wide.
