Premium loudspeakers
The twelve high-end loudspeakers in the Premium Sound system are powered by
a 5x130 W digital amplifier. There are three separate speakers – woofer, tweeter and
midrange – in each front door and in the rear doors there is a similar set-up with
tweeter and woofer/midrange. Each speaker has a crossover filter to maximize fidelity.

The latest generation Dolby surround system with a center loudspeaker and sound

processor recreates authentic sound with a strong sense of presence for everyone in
the car – a Volvo world first. The digital class D amplifier features new technology to
provide extremely high efficiency, enabling it to generate the most audio power from
the least amount of current.

Options: 2x130 W subwoofers. A 6-CD changer is available (replaces the CD

player) – this option deletes the USB input, but a USB and iPod Music Interface
(accessory) can be added.

Performance loudspeaker, in combination with the amplifier, promotes excellent
transient reproduction and high power durability – quite simply superb sound.

The Hybrid Digital Radio technology brings you an all-new radio listening experience.
You’ll enjoy crystal clear sound, static-free reception and more than 1,900 FM and
AM radio stations across the United States to tune into, plus more than 1,020 local FM
HD2 and HD3 channels. You simply get more music, more news and more sports – all
subscription free. The screen displays data such as song, artist, breaking news, weather
alerts, sports scores, stock information and much more to keep you updated as you
travel. HD Radio is included in the High Performance and Premium Sound audio systems.
