Locking/unlocking in an emergency

Remove mechanical key (୴ page 374).  ̈    Using a lint-free cloth, insert new bat-
SmartKey with KEYLESS-GO*
teries under the contact spring with the
plus (+) side facing up.
Insert the mechanical key 1 in side
opening and push gray slide.

The required replacement batteries are
available at any Mercedes-Benz
Center.
̈
Return battery compartment into hous-
ing until it locks into place.
The battery compartment is unlatched.
̈
̈
Pull battery compartment 2 out of the
SmartKey housing in direction of ar-
row.
Remove the batteries.
