When replacing the thermostat make sure
it is oriented so the bleed port, or jiggle pin, is
at the top. When the engine is running, and
coolant is circulating, the port allows air to
escape when the thermostat is closed. An
improperly oriented thermostat will cause air to
be trapped and not allow you to properly bleed
the cooling system.
