Most V8 upper engine gasket sets contain conventional metal cylinder head gaskets. A
newer-style composite gasket with stainless steel fire rings and bolt eyelets is available as a
replacement. When usingthis gasket the outer rowofhead bolts is eliminated and you must
use a newstyle head bolt in the remaininglocations. In addition, a different tightening
sequence should also be followed. Be sure to ask for these parts and the instructions when
orderingthe newstyle head gaskets.
