ber is the tire's load index. It is a

The number of layers or plies of
rubbercoated fabric in the tire. Tire
manufacturers also must indicate

clude steel, nylon, polyester, and
others. The letter "R" means radial
plyconstruction;theletter"D"means
diagonal or bias ply construction;
andtheletter"B"meansbelted-bias
ply construction.
