Recommended shift speeds
Upshift  according  to the  following charts  for best  fuel  economy:

Shift from:
1-2
2-3
3-4
4-5
10 mph  (16 km/h)
20 mph  (32 km/h)
32 mph  (52 km/h)
37 mph  (60 km/h)
Reverse
Make  su re  tha t  you r vehicle   is  at  a comple  te  st op be for e you  shift
into  R  (Reverse  ).  Failu  re  to  do so  ma y da ma ge the  transa   xle.
Put  the gearshift  lever  into  the
neutral  position  and  wait at  least
three  seconds  before  shifting  into R
(
Reverse) .

Not e: You  can shift  into R (Reverse)   only by  moving the  gearshift  lever
from left  of 3 (Third)   and 4 (Fourth)   gears  before  you shift  into R
(
Reverse) . This  is a special  lockout  feature  which prevents   you from
shifting  into R (Reverse)   when  you downshift  from 5  (Fifth) .
