TPMS (Tire pressure moni-
toringsystem)malfunction

WARNING:
Inwinterorcoldweather,thelowtire
pressuretelltalemaybeilluminated
if the tire pressure was adjusted to
therecommendedtireinflationpres-
sure in warm weather. It does not
mean your TPMS is malfunctioning
becausethedecreasedtemperature
leads to a proportional lowering of
tirepressure.
When you drive your vehicle from a
warm area to a cold area or from a
cold area to a warm area, or the
outside temperature significantly
increasesordecreases,youshould
checkthetireinflationpressureand
adjustthetirestotherecommended
tireinflationpressure.
Significantlylowtirepressuremakes
thevehicleunstableandcancontrib-
ute to loss of vehicle control and
increasedbrakingdistances.
Continued driving on low pressure
tires will cause the tires to overheat
and fail.
TheTPMSmalfunctionindicatorcomes
onandstaysonwhenthereisaproblem
with the Tire Pressure Monitoring Sys-
tem. If the Front Left sensor fails, the
TPMSmalfunctionindicatorilluminates,
butiftheFrontRight,RearLeft,orRear
Right tire is under-inflated, the low tire
pressureandpositiontelltalesmayillu-
minate together with the TPMS mal-
function indicator.
Havethesystemcheckedbyanautho-
rized Hyundai dealer as soon as pos-
sible to determine the cause of the
problem.
