Take the new Touareg Escape for instance. Its stylish off-road
design stands out from the crowd thanks to an increased
approach angle of 26 degrees, which means it can scale
embankments, gradients and hills without the bumper
touching the ground. It also has an increased ground
clearance of an extra 10 mm at the front and 15 mm at the
rear, so it can wade through deeper water, or overcome large
tree trunks or rocks without bottoming out. Volkswagen’s
4XMOTION four wheel drive system for optimal traction is
also fitted as standard, while a centre and rear differential
lock and low gear ratios all help the new Touareg Escape
make light work of whatever you throw at it. you might even
stray so far off the beaten track that its increased fuel tank
capacity may well come in handy.
