coveredbythenavigationCD-ensurethat
youareusingthelatestversionofthecorrect
CDforyourcountry.Someoftheroadmaps
containareasofunattributedgeometry.In
theseareas,theroadnavigationsystemwill
announcethat"youareleavingtheregistered
roadnetwork".Thenavigationscreenwill
reverttoamapdisplayshowingthecurrent
vehiclepositionandnoaudibleinstructions
willbegiven.
NOTE:NavigationCDsareupdated
approximatelyevery6months,andyouwill
automaticallyreceivethefirstupdatefree,
alongwithinformationonhowtoorder
furtherupdates.
Thenavigationsystemisdesignedonlyasa
guideanddoesnotrelievethedriverofthe
responsibilityfordrivinginaccordancewith
trafficregulations.
Whendrivingoff-road,thenavigationsystem
willnotsupplydetailedinformation
concerningtheterrainbeingtraversed-carry
outapreliminarysurveyonfootbefore
negotiatingdifficultterrainandrefertothe

Off-roaddriving’sectionoftheOwner’s
Handbookforhelpfulinformation.
Intheinterestsofsafety,informationshould
onlybeprogrammedintothenavigation
systemwhenthevehicleisstationary.
Undernormaloperatingconditions,the
navigationsystemrequiresapproximately8
secondstoconfirmthevehicle’ sposition
usingthesatellites.
Ifthevehiclebatteryhasbeendisconnected,
orifthevehiclehasbeentransportedtoa
newlocationonanothervehicle(eg.by
trailerortrain),thenavigationsystemwill
requireapproximately15minutestoidentify
thenewposition.Enteringthenewlocation
manuallywillreducethisdelay(see’Entering
thevehicle’sposition’).
Metallicobjectsinterferewithsatellitesignal
reception.Forthisreason,donotstoreany
metallicobjectsincloseproximitytothe
satelliteantenna,locatedundertheright
handwipermountingatthebaseofthe
windscreen.
