Electro-mechanical parking brake and Auto Hold function
Climb a mountain with the standard equipped electro-
mechanical parking brake and Auto Hold. As soon as the
Passat CC comes to a complete stop, the ABS hydraulic
unit retains its final braking pressure. Even when you take
your foot off the brake pedal, the brakes remain applied to
all four wheels, providing increased comfort in stationary
traffic. A touch of the accelerator automatically releases
this function when you’re ready to drive again. Auto Hold
customisation lets you choose whether to activate Auto
Hold or not when you start the engine.
Adaptive chassis control
Adaptive chassis control electronically adjusts the damper
characteristics for each wheel, ensuring optimum driving
comfort for any road surface or driving situation. It achieves
the optimum balance between driving comfort and driving
dynamics based on a newly developed control algorithm.
Adaptive chassis control uses wheel movement sensors and
body acceleration sensors to determine the positions and
speeds of the wheels and the motion of the chassis, then
adjusts the damping for each wheel individually every
millisecond. It analyses signals from the steering, engine,
gearbox, brake system and driver assistance systems.

Seat belts feature pretensioners and front belt force
limiters.
By selecting Normal, Sport or Comfort modes, the damper
controls and electro-mechanical steering system adapt -
ranging from comfort-oriented to a firmer, sporty
characteristic. In Sport mode, the dampers suppress rolling
and pitching motion to achieve sporty and dynamic
handling. In Comfort mode, ride quality is more like a
luxury limousine, especially when driving on poor road
surfaces at slow speeds.
At the push of a button, Auto Hold activates the electronic
parking brake, holding the Passat CC in a stationary
position (optional Park Assist shown).
