Take out the cupholder insert and set aside.
Be careful with the cables!

Remove the cap.
Insert the release tool into the opening.

Remove the release tool from the tool kit.
Turn the release tool all the way and then
press down. The transmission lock is re‐
leased and position P is no longer engaged.
Insert the release tool into the opening.
Turn the release tool and pull it out with the
cap.
Locking the transmission lock again
After parking the vehicle, lock the trans‐
mission lock again to prevent the vehicle from
rolling.◀

Pull out the release tool. The transmission
lock is locked again.

Place the cap on the release tool.
Insert the release tool with the cap into the
opening and turn it all the way counterclock‐
wise.
