What’s more, we believe in a holistic approach
to all aspects of the vehicle development
process: our Design for Environment philo-
sophy involves taking the entire lifecycle of a
vehicle into account, from its initial planning
to its end-of-life recycling. We apply the same
principles to the building and maintenance
of new factories too, saving energy, avoiding
harmful emissions and making increasing use
of renewable resources.
Another area of our environmental research
is bionics, the study of natural structures and
materials in order to gain technical insights.
This can help us identify new ways to optimise
the aerodynamics and lower the weight of our
vehicles – and hence further reduce their fuel
consumption and emissions.
You can, of course, make an important contribu-
