A sixth sense comes as standard too
Every accident is one too many. That’s why the
B-Class comes with a wide range of active safety trol (ASR) and Brake Assist (BAS). Brake Assist
pressure loss warning, Acceleration Skid Con-
braking, detecting an emergency stop by the
speed with which you press the pedal and
systems that can help prevent a crash from
occurring. The Electronic Stability Programme
helps to reduce stopping distances in emergency
instantly applying maximum braking pressure.
(ESP ), for instance, counters over- or under-

steer by applying the brakes to individual wheels
and adjusting the engine management system
if necessary. Should a skid prove unavoidable,
the steering assistant Steer Control helps you to
steer in the right direction, i.e. into the skid, via
a noticeable movement of the wheel. Other active
safety systems fitted as standard include tyre
