In the B-Class, you’re protected by a network of carefully
coordinated and highly advanced safety features. The high
seating position, for instance, not only gives you better
all-round visibility, it also considerably reduces the risk
of injury in front-end collisions. In conjunction with the
positioning of the engine block, it enables engine and
transmission to slide downwards along the sloping pedal
floor and underneath the passenger compartment.
In addition, every B-Class is equipped with crash-
responsive emergency lighting. As soon as restraint
systems such as the airbags or seat belt pre-tensioners
deploy, the hazard warning lights are switched on
and, if set to automatic, the interior lights activated.
This helps the occupants to see after an accident
and makes the vehicle more clearly visible to the
emergency services.
