Common-rail diesel technology
Environmental protection starts at home. Or at
least just outside it. Because with a common-rail
diesel CLC in your driveway, you can help to
reduce harmful emissions. The CLC200 CDI
and CLC220 CDI offer excellent fuel economy
and low CO2 emissions. They are impressively
powerful and refined too, with outputs of 122hp
(90
kW) and 150hp (110kW) respectively.
This blend of power and efficiency comes
courtesy of latest-generation common rail
technology. Common rail means exactly that:
all cylinders are fed from one single rail.
It injects the fuel at extremely high pressure
and in precisely the right quantities, enabling
maximum torque to be developed at very low
engine speeds.
