Active safety in the CLC
The CLC is built for enjoying the road. And to
make sure you can do so as safely as possible,
it comes with a host of quick-thinking systems
that help to keep danger at bay. The Electronic
Stability Programme (ESP ), for instance, coun-
®
ters over- or understeer by applying the brakes
to individual wheels, while Brake Assist (BAS)
can recognise an emergency stop and bring the
CLC to a standstill as quickly as possible.
Anti-lock brakes (ABS) are, of course, also
fitted as standard, along with a tyre pressure
loss warning system, and there’s a range of
safety-enhancing options too, such as bi-xenon
headlamps with particularly broad and bright
beams. The bi-xenon system is offered as part
of the Visibility Package, which also includes a
heated windscreen wash system and a corner-
ing light function that activates the left or right
fog lamp for a better view of the turn.
