CAUTION
Battery recharging by battery
charger
Your vehicle has a maintenance-free,
calcium-based battery.
•
The electrical ignition system
works with high voltage. Never
touch these components with the
engine running or the ignition
switched on.
• When you don’t use the vehicle
for a long time in a low tempera-
ture area, disconnect the battery
and keep it indoors.
•
If the battery becomes discharged in a
short time (because, for example, the
headlights or interior lights were left on
while the vehicle was not in use),
recharge it by slow charging (trickle)
for 10 hours.
• Always charge the battery fully to

being damaged in a low tempera-
ture area.
Failure to follow the above warn-
ings can result in serious bodily
injury or death.

tronic devices to the battery, the

Battery recharging by vehicle
After a jump start from a good battery,
run the engine for 20-30 minutes at idle
or driving the vehicle before it is shutoff.
Vehicle may not restart if you shut it off
before the battery had chance to ade-
quately recharge.
