Oil pressure relief valve
Inspecting components

Check rotor clearances.

Remove plug retaining oil pressure relief valve.
Withdraw spring and plunger.
A - Outer rotor to housing = 0.025 to 0.075 mm
B - Inner rotor to outer rotor = 0.025 to 0.075
mm
C - Rotor end-float = 0.026 to 0.135 mm

Remove inner and outer rotors.
Check rotors for damage, wear and scoring.
Check oil pump cover for wear and scoring.
Check oil pressure relief valve spring free
length is 68.0 mm.

Check plunger and relief valve bore for wear
and scoring.
Clean all traces of sealant from oil pump cover
using solvent from kit GUG 705548GM.
Remove all traces of sealant from relief valve
plug threads in oil pump body.
CAUTION: Do not use a tap.
