NOTE:
The safety features of an ABS
equipped vehicle should not be
tested by high speed driving or
cornering. This could endanger the
safety of yourself or others.
o Backwarningsystemshouldonly
be considered as a supplemen-
tary function. The driver must
check the rear view.
o The audible warning signal can
be different depending on the
objects.
o Theaudiblewarningsignalmight
not activate in case the sensor is
frozenorstainedwithdirtormud.
o There is a chance of malfunction
ofthebackwarningsystemwhen
driving in uneven surfaces such
as woods, gravel road, jagged
road, or gradient.
o Do not push, or scratch the sur-
face of the sensor. This will likely
damage the covering.
o Thesensorsystemmightnotrec-
ognize sharp objects, thick win-
ter clothes or sponges which
absorb the frequency.
Sensor
HSRFL160
The back warning system assists the
driver during backward movement of
the vehicle by chiming if any object is
sensed within the distance of 1200
mm (47 in.) behind the vehicle. This
systemisonlyasupplementalsystem.
o Clean dirty sensors with a soft
sponge and clean water.
o When more than two objects are
sensedatthesametime,theclos-
est one will be recognized first.
