3. Securethechild-restraintsystemusing
BOTHLATCHloweranchors,
followingthechild-restraintsystem
manufacturer'sinstruction,howeverif
itusesanuppertether,itcannotbe
mountedproperlyinthisvehicleas
thereisnosafewaytoanchorthe
tether.
Beforeinstallingarear-facingchild-
restraintsystem,thepassengerairbag
mustbedeactivated(page2-23).
NOTE
Beforeinstallingachild-restraint
system,referto“PassengerAirBag
DeactivationSwitch”(page2-23).
1.
Makesuretoremovearticlesfrom
behindthepassengerseatthatwould
preventtheseatfromslidingbackfully,
andthenslidetheseatasfarbackas
possibletoinserttheLATCHlower
anchorsbetweentheseatbottomand
theseatback.
2.
Expandtheareabetweentheseat
bottomandtheseatbackslightlyto
verifythelocationsoftheLATCH
loweranchors.
NOTE
ThemarkingsabovetheLATCHlower
anchorsindicatethelocationsofthe
LATCHloweranchorsforthe
attachmentofachild-restraintsystem.
