Turn Signal Indicator

Warning Light
Operation of a turn signal is indicated
by the warning light located in  the in-
strument  cluster. If  the  light  fails to
illuminateordoesnotflash,amalfunc-
tion within  the  turn signal  system is
indicated.
This warning light comes on for some
seconds after the ignition key is turned
to the "ON" position. At this time, you
canstarttheengine.Thelightgoesout
after the engine is running. In case this
light goes out before you start the en-
gine,  you  must  turn to  the  "LOCK"
positionandrestarttheengine.Incase
this light blinks for five seconds when
the ignition key is turned to "ON" posi-
tion, this indicates that the immobiliser
system is  out  of order.  At this  time,
consult to the Hyundai authorised re-
pairer.
The charging   system  warning  light
should  illuminate  when  the ignition
switch is turned  to the "ON" position
and  should  be  extinguished   when
the engine is started.  If the light fails
to  illuminate   when   the  ignition   is
turned  "ON"   or  fails  to  extinguish
after starting the engine,  the nearest
Hyundai authorisedrepairershould  be
contacted.  Ifthelightilluminateswhilst
the vehicle  is being  driven, stop  the
vehicleassoonasitissafetodosoand
check the  condition of  the alternator
drive belt. If the belt is in place and the
tension is satisfactory, the advice of a
Hyundaiauthorisedrepairershouldbe
sought.

Theelectronicstabilityprogramindica-
torschangeoperationaccordingtothe
ignitionswitchpositionandwhether  the
system is in operation or not.
They will illuminate  when the ignition
key is turned to the "ON" position, but
shouldgooutafterthreeseconds.Ifthe
ESP or ESP-OFF  indicator stays on,
takeyourcartoyourHyundaiauthorised
repairerandhavethesystemchecked.
See  section  2 for  more  information
about the ESP.

CAUTION:
If the  drive belt (generator  belt) is
loose,broken,ormissingwhilstthe
vehicle is  driving, there  may be  a
serious  malfunction,   the   engine
could  also overheat  because this
belt also drives the water pump.
