If a tire goes flat while you are driving:

Takeyourfootofftheacceleratorpedal
andletthecarslowdownwhiledriving
straightahead.Donotapplythebrakes
immediately or attempt to pull off the
roadasthismaycausealossofcontrol.
Whenthevehiclehasslowedtosucha
speed that it is safe to do so, brake
carefully and pull off the road. Drive off
theroadasfaraspossibleandparkon
firm,levelground.Ifyouareonadivided
highway,donotparkinthemedianarea
betweenthetwotrafficlanes.

Theproceduredescribedonthefollow-
ingpagescanbeusedtorotatetiresas
well as to change a flat tire. When
preparingtochangeaflattire,checkto
be sure the gear selector lever is in "P"
(automatic) or reverse gear (manual
transaxle)andthattheparkingbrakeis
set, then:
Removetheinstallationbolttoremove
thesparetire.Toreplacethesparetire
initsstoragecompartment,tightenthe
boltfirmlywithyourfingersuntilthereis
no more play in the spare tire.

. Whenthevehicleisstopped,turnon
youremergencyhazardflashers,set
the parking brake and put the
transaxle in "P" (automatic) or "R"
(manualtransaxle).

Have all passengers get out of the
vehicle.Besuretheyallgetoutonthe
sideofthecarthatisawayfromtraffic.
