REMOVAL OF WATER FROM
THE FUEL FILTER
(DIESEL ENGINE)

WARNING:
It is suggested that you check the
power steering hose connections for
fluid leakage at regular intervals. The
power steering hoses should be re-
placedifthereisseveresurfacecrack-
ing, scuffing or worn spots. Deteriora-
tion of the hose could cause prema-
ture failure.
Be sure to carefully wipe away any
water drained out in this manner,
because the fuel mixed in the water
might be ignited and result in a fire.
Extracting air in the fuel filter
Ifyoudroveuntilyouhavenofuelleftor
if you replaced the fuel filter, be sure to
extract air in the fuel system as it
makes you difficult to start the engine.

Remove the air extract nozzle cap
on the fuel filter.

Pump up and down until the fuel
flows out of the plug opening.
Ifthefuelfilterwarninglightilluminates
during driving, it indicates that water
has accumulated in the fuel filter.
NOTE:
NOTE:
Use cloths when you extract air so
that the fuel is not sprayed around.
Cleanthefuelaroundthefuelfilteror
the injection pump before starting
the engine to prevent fire. Finally,
checkeachpartifthefuelisleaking.
It is recommended that water accu-
mulated in the fuel filter should be
removed by an authorized Hyundai
dealer.
