HOOD RELEASE

2. Push the secondary latch lever to
the left and lower the hood.

CAUTION:
To close the hood, lift up it and hit the
centerofthehoodwithyourhand.Make
sure that it locks into place.
Driving with the parking brake ap-
pliedwillcauseexcessivebrakepad
(or lining) and brake rotor wear.
NOTE:
Ifthehoodwillnotopenbecauseice
has formed around it, tap lightly or
push on the hood to break the ice
and release the hood. Do not pry on
thehood.Ifnecessary,sprayaround
the hood with an approved de-icer
fluid(donotuseradiatoranti-freeze)
or move the vehicle to a warm place
and allow the ice to melt.
Releasing the parking brake
Toreleasetheparkingbrake,firstapply
thefootbrakeandpulltheparkingbrake
lever slightly. Secondly, depress the
release button and lower the parking
brake lever while holding the button.

Pull the release knob to unlatch the
hood.
!
WARNING:
o Always double check to be sure
that the hood is firmly latched
beforedrivingaway.
o Do not press excessively or step
on the hood. This can cause the
hood to fall and result in serious
injury.
