The E-Class diesel engines maximise power and performance while reducing emissions and fuel consumption.
4-cylinder
diesel engines. The E-Class offers
have decreased by up to 13%. All are fitted with
diesel particulate filters and meet the EU5
emissions standard:
– E200  CDI BlueEFFICIENCY with 136hp
(100kW), maximum torque of 360Nm  and
CO2 from 137g/km
– E220  CDI BlueEFFICIENCY with 170hp
(125kW), 400Nm  and 139g/km  CO2
– E250  CDI BlueEFFICIENCY with 204hp
(150kW), 500Nm  and 139g/km  CO2
a choice of three efficient 4-cylinder diesel
engines, offering torquey performance and
instant low-range responses, and yet also low
emissions, noise levels and fuel consumption.
They feature optimised combustion chambers,
ultra-precise piezo injectors and a fourth-
generation common-rail system that allows fuel
to be injected at up to 2,000bar. In conjunction
with twin turbochargers, this means impressive
levels of torque are available at any engine
speed, while t
they remain smooth and refined at all times.
They also feature intelligent alternator control
that enables brake energy to be recovered when
coasting, and a radiator shutter that can reduce
drag when the engine requires less cooling. As
a result, fuel consumption and CO2 emissions

V6 diesel engine. With an output of 231hp
(170kW), the E350  CDI BlueEFFICIENCY is the
most powerful of E-Class diesels. Its V6 engine
features precisely-controlled high-pressure
piezo injection and delivers peak torque of
540Nm. The result is impressive acceleration
in any gear and at any speed.
