Passive safety technology
Should the worst come to the worst, the SLK’s
seat belt pre-tensioners and adaptive front air-
bags will activate instantaneously. In addition,
the roll-over sensor and the head/thorax
sidebags located in the outer edges of the seat
backrests ensure optimum occupant protection
in the event of side impacts or roll-overs.
When closed, the robust steel frame of the
vario-roof offers additional protection,
but even with the roof open, the SLK never
leaves you exposed, thanks to a safety cage
that boasts exceptional torsional rigidity
and roll-over bars that are integrated with
the vehicle body.
