Your vehicle is equipped with the emer-
gency tailgate safety release lever locat-
ed on the bottom of the tailgate. When
someone is inadvertently locked in the
luggage compartment. The tailgate can
be opened by doing as follows:
The driver may set the height of a fully
opened tailgate by following the below
instruction.
Position the tailgate manually to the
height you prefer.
Press the tailgate close button for
more than 3 seconds.
Close the tailgate manually after hear-
ing the buzzer sound.

Remove the cover.
Push the release lever to the right.
Push up the tailgate.
The tailgate will open to the height the
driver has set up.
