1997 Land Rover LT230T – Transfer Gearbox

TRANSFER BOX
Intermediate gears
Mainshaft input gear assembly
1.
2.
Secure intermediate gears in a soft-jawed vice.
Using a soft metal drift, drive intermediate shaft
bearing track out of gears; discard bearing
track.
3.
4.
Remove and discard circlip.
Repeat above procedure for remaining bearing
track.
NOTE: Defender input gear illustrated.

Secure hand press LRT-99-002 in a vice.
Assemble collars LRT-41-003  around bearing
to be removed.

Position mainshaft in hand press, remove and
discard bearing.
Repeat above procedure for remaining
bearing.
