Make sure that the support rod has been
released prior to closing the hood. Always
double check to be sure that the hood is
firmly latched before driving away. If it is not
latched, the hood could fly open while the
vehicleisbeingdriven,causingatotallossof
visibility, which might result in an accident.
Thesupportrodmustbeinsertedcompletely
into the hole provided in the hood whenever
you inspect the engine compartment. This
will prevent the hood from falling and possi-
blyinjuringyou.Donotmovethevehiclewith
the hood in the raised position, as vision is
obstructed and the hood could fall or be
damaged.

. Pull the release knob to unlatch the hood.
YourHyundaiisequippedwithsunvisorstogive
the driver and front passenger either frontal or
sidewardshade.Thesunvisorsarefittedonboth
sidesonallmodels.Toreduceglareortoshutout
direct rays of the sun, turn the sun visor down to
block the annoyance.
2. Press the safety catch lever up and lift the
hood.
3. Hold the hood open with the support rod.
Beforeclosingthehood,returnthesupportrodto
its clip to prevent it from rattling. Lower the hood
until it is about 30 cm (1 ft.) above the closed
positionandletitdrop.Makesurethatitlocksinto
place.
Avanitymirrorisprovidedonthebackofthesun
visor for the front passenger.
NOTE:
The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS)
label containing useful information can be
found on the back of each sun visor.
WARNING:
Do not place the sun visor in such a manner
that it obscures visibility of the roadway,
traffic or other objects.
