RADIODATASYSTEM(RDS)
ThisradioisequippedwithRDS(RadioData
ReceivingRDSstations
System).RDSisbeingintroducedin
EuropeancountriesandoperatesontheFM
waveband.Thesystemenablestheradioto
receiveotherinformationinadditiontoradio
signals,including:
TheradioisautomaticallyintheRDSmode
whenevertheFMwavebandisselected.
WheneveranRDSradiostationisreceived,
theradiostationnameilluminatesinthe
display.Thesetconstantlyscansall
alternativefrequenciesonwhichthatstation
canbereceived,andautomaticallyswitches
tothestrongestsignalitcanfind.

enablesthesettodisplaytheradio
stationnameinsteadofthefrequency).
alternativefrequenciesfortheFMradio

isreceivedtheRDSfeaturesdescribed
previouslywillnotbeavailable.

Localradiostations
Receptionofmostlocalradiostationsis
intentionallylimitedtoacomparativelysmall
areaaroundthetransmitter.

EON(enhancedothernetworks)allows
trafficornewsinformationfromradio
stationsotherthantheonetowhichthe
radioiscurrentlytuned,providedtheyare
allmembersofalinkedEONnetwork.
Oncethelimitofthereceptionrangeis
reached,itisunlikelythattheRDSfacilityon
yourradiowillbeabletolocateanalternative
frequencyforthelocalradiostationbeing
received.Instead,RDSisableto
automaticallylocate,andtuneto,thenearest
alternativelocalradiostation.
NOTE:Thisfacilitycanbedeactivatedor
reactivatedbyyourdealer.
