Unlock (Land Rover) button
All Discovery vehicles are fitted with a
sophisticated electronic anti-theft alarm
system. Some vehicles are equipped with a
number of additional security features, some of
which are selectable options and some are
standard features. In order to ensure maximum
security and operating convenience, you are
strongly advised to gain a full understanding of
the features and alternatives available, by
thoroughly reading this section of the
handbook.
2. Lock (Padlock) button
3. Handset indicator light
Locking
With the remote handset:
Press the lock (padlock symbol) button once:
all doors are locked
engine immobilised
•
•
•
perimetric alarm activated (protects the
doors, hood and taildoor)
The direction indicator lights flash once to
confirm that the vehicle is secure and the anti-
theft alarm indicator light (in the instrument
panel) starts to flash.
Using the remote handset
While it is not necessary to point the handset at
the vehicle, the handset must be within range of
the vehicle when a button is pressed. Note that
the operating range may vary depending upon
handset battery condition and may sometimes
be limited by physical and geographical factors
beyond your control. From a security point of
view, it may not be wise to unlock unless you
are within a few feet of the vehicle.
With the key:
Insert the key and turn the door lock towards
the rear of the vehicle:
•
•
•
all doors locked
engine immobilised
perimetric alarm activated (protects the
