ignitionswitchisturnedtotheONpositionanddoesnotilluminateasindicatedinthe
abovechart,donotallowachildtositinthefrontpassengerseatandconsultan
AuthorizedMazdaDealerassoonaspossible.Thesystemmaynotworkproperlyinan
accident.
WARNING
Donotdecreasethetotalseatedweightonthefrontpassengerseat:
Whenanadultorlargechildsitsonthefrontpassengerseat,decreasingthetotal
seatedweightonthefrontpassengerseatfromthetotalseatedweightof
approximately42kg(93lb)requiredforairbagdeploymentisdangerous.Thefront
passengerseatweightsensorswilldetectthereducedtotalseatedweightconditionand
thefrontpassengerfrontandsideairbagsandseatbeltpretensionersystemwillnot
deployduringanaccident.Thefrontpassengerwillnothavethesupplementary
protectionoftheairbag,whichcouldresultinseriousinjury.Decreasingthetotal
seatedweightonthefrontpassengerseatfromthetotalseatedweightof
approximately42kg(93lb)couldresultinanairbagnotdeployingunderthe
followingconditions,forexample:
Arearpassengerpushesuponthefrontpassengerseatwiththefeet.

Luggageorotheritemsplacedunderthefrontpassengerseatorbetweenthefront
l
passengerseatanddriverseatthatpushupthefrontpassengerseatbottom.
Thefrontpassengerseatoccupantsitsinamannerthatdoesnotplacetheentire
l
weightoftheoccupantontheseatsuchasbysittingtooclosetothedoor,grasping
theassistgriportherimofthemoonroofandsittingwiththeseatbackreclinedtoo
far.
Anyaccessorieswhichmightdecreasethetotalseatedweightonthefront
l
passengerseatareattachedtothefrontpassengerseat.
Thefrontpassengerfrontandsideairbagsandseatbeltpretensionersystemswill
deactivateifthetotalseatedweightonthefrontpassengerseatiscloseto30kg(66lb)
andtheywillreactivatebeforetheweightexceeds42kg(93lb).
