Whenaninfantorsmallchildsitsonthefrontpassengerseat,increasingthetotal
seatedweightonthefrontpassengerseatfromthetotalseatedweightof
approximately30kg(66lb)isdangerous.Thefrontpassengerseatweightsensorswill
detecttheincreasedtotalseatedweight,whichcouldresultintheunexpected
deploymentofthefrontpassengerfrontandsideairbagsandseatbeltpretensioner
systeminanaccidentandmaycauseseriousinjury.Increasingthetotalseatedweight
onthefrontpassengerseatbeyondthetotalseatedweightofapproximately30kg(66
lb)couldresultinthefrontpassengerfrontandsideairbagsandseatbelt
pretensionersystemdeploymentinanaccidentunderthefollowingconditions,for
example:
Luggageorotheritemsareplacedontheseatwiththechildinthechild-restraint

system.
Arearpassengerorluggagepushorpulldownonthefrontpassengerseatback.
l
Arearpassengerstepsonthefrontpassengerseatrailswiththefeet.
l
Luggageorotheritemsareplacedontheseatbackorhungontheheadrestraint.
l
Theseatiswashed.
l
Liquidsarespilledontheseat.
l
Thefrontpassengerseatismovedbackward,pushingintoluggageorotheritems
l
placedbehindit.
Thefrontpassengerseatbackcontactstherearseat.
l
Luggageorotheritemsareplacedbetweenthefrontpassengerseatanddriverseat.
l
Anyaccessorieswhichmightincreasethetotalseatedweightonthefrontpassenger
l
seatareattachedtothefrontpassengerseat.
Thefrontpassengerfrontandsideairbagsandseatbeltpretensionersystemswill
deactivateifthetotalseatedweightonthefrontpassengerseatiscloseto30kg(66lb)
andtheywillreactivatebeforetheweightexceeds42kg(93lb).
