How temperature affects your tire pressure
TheTirePressureMonitoringSystem(TPMS)monitorstirepressurein
eachpneumatictire.Whiledrivinginanormalmanner,atypical
passengertireinflationpressuremayincreaseapproximately2to4psi

to28kPa)fromacoldstartsituation.Ifthevehicleisstationary
overnightwiththeoutsidetemperaturesignificantlylowerthanthe
daytimetemperature,thetirepressuremaydecreaseapproximately3psi
(20.7
kPa)foradropof30°F(16.6°C)inambienttemperature.This
lowerpressurevaluemaybedetectedbytheTPMSasbeinglowerthan
therecommendedinflationpressureandactivatetheTPMSwarningfor
lowtirepressure.IfthelowtirepressurewarninglightisON,visually
checkeachtiretoverifythatnotireisflat.Ifoneormoretiresareflat,
