guideonseatback(ifequipped),childsafetyseattetherbracket
assemblies(ifequipped),andattachinghardware,shouldbeinspected
afteracollision.Mazdarecommendsthatallsafetybeltassembliesused
invehiclesinvolvedinacollisionbereplaced.However,ifthecollision
wasminorandanauthorizedMazdatechnicianfindsthatthebeltsdo
notshowdamageandcontinuetooperateproperly,theydonotneedto
bereplaced.Safetybeltassembliesnotinuseduringacollisionshould
alsobeinspectedandreplacedifeitherdamageorimproperoperationis
noted.
Theenergyabsorbingfunctionsmayhavebeenactivatedinacollisionso
therestraintsshouldbeexamined;ifthefrontairbagshavedeployed,the
pretensionershavealsodeployedandmustbereplaced—regardlessof
whethertherewasanoccupantinthepassengerseatornot.
WARNING: Failuretoinspectandifnecessaryreplacethe
safetybeltassemblyundertheaboveconditionscouldresultin
severepersonalinjuriesintheeventofacollision.
